Purpose:

To study and analyze the diagnostic value of adding Dynamic Spectral Imaging to conventional colposcopy during routine practice.

Design:

Women with an abnormal screening result had colposcopy with DYSIS. They were first assessed following conventionally and then with the DYSISmap. Assessments and selections were compared with histology as gold standard.

Findings:

The sensitivity for high-grade (CIN2+) disease increased from 73.2% to 87.8% after incorporating the DYSISmap with the normal colposcopic observations. The drop in specificity was moderate- from 92.3% to 85.6%.

Conclusions:

The combination of colposcopy with DYSIS mapping improves detection of cervical lesions significantly.
