“Since introduction into our NHS clinic, DYSIS has very quickly become the preferred modality of colposcopy. As supported by NICE, it provides an excellent adjunct to traditional colposcopy. We have found it especially useful in the groups of patients that have been historically difficult to manage, such as persistent low grade disease, and opinion after treatment. From a Quality Assurance perspective the extra information provided by DYSISmap, most especially for low grade disease allows me to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate management for their case, whilst potentially reducing unnecessary visits for colposcopy appointments. This is likely to become increasingly important in the current constraints of our already strained Health Service. I would advise all Lead Colposcopists to familiarise themselves with the technique to see the potential advantages and benefits that it might provide for their patients and their Hospital Trusts.”
